CollegeNearby ("we", "us") operates the CollegeNearby mobile application and the website at www.collegenearby.com. We help students in India find colleges, jobs, internships, study abroad options, education loans and accommodation.

Account information: your mobile number, name, preferred language, and the one-time password used to sign in.

Profile information you choose to provide: education level, marks or percentile, stream and course preference, budget, category, city, work experience, resume and uploaded documents.

Usage information: pages and listings viewed, searches, saved shortlists, applications submitted, and interactions with AI tools. This is used to improve matching quality.

Device information: device model, operating system version, app version, crash logs and approximate location when you grant location permission.

To match you with colleges, courses, jobs, internships, loans and accommodation that fit your profile.

To send admission deadlines, counselling dates, job alerts and service notifications.

To generate AI outputs you request, such as resumes, roadmaps, SOPs and interview feedback.

To verify listings, prevent fraud and misuse, and keep the platform secure.

To improve product quality through aggregated, de-identified analytics.

With an institute, employer, consultancy or accommodation owner only when you apply to them, request a call-back, or explicitly submit an enquiry. Only the details relevant to that enquiry are shared.

With service providers who host our infrastructure, send messages, or provide AI processing, under contracts that restrict their use of your data to our instructions.

When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share your contact details with partners who you have not chosen to contact.

Location is optional and used only to sort results by distance. You can deny it and type a city instead.

Notifications are used for deadlines and alerts and can be switched off in device settings.

Storage and camera permissions are requested only when you upload or scan a document.

We keep your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your profile and documents within 30 days, except records we must retain for legal, accounting or fraud-prevention purposes.

Aggregated, de-identified statistics that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely.

You can access, correct or delete your profile information from within the app or web platform.

You can withdraw consent for notifications and location at any time from device settings.

You can request a copy or deletion of your data by writing to [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on access-controlled infrastructure. Access to personal data inside our team is limited to staff who need it for support or verification.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.

CollegeNearby is intended for students aged 13 and above. Users under 18 should use the platform with the involvement of a parent or guardian, particularly for loan and admission decisions.
