Internships That Actually Count on a Resume
· 5 min read
A certificate alone proves attendance, not capability. What recruiters look for is a specific, measurable contribution described in one line.
Choose internships where you own a deliverable — a module, a report, a campaign, a dataset. Shadowing roles are easier to get and much harder to describe later.
Ask for a scope note at the start: what you will build, which tools, and who reviews it. This becomes your resume bullet at the end.
Remote internships count, provided the output is real. Include a link to what you produced wherever confidentiality allows.
Two well-described internships beat five vague ones. Depth is far more persuasive than volume.
